Senior Café is a gathering place for older adults where a nutritious mid-day meal is served with others. Attendees enjoy meeting up with friends and participating in social activities that allow seniors to remain active and connected to the community while meeting their nutritional needs.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available at Senior Café Senior for youth, families, and individuals. Activities include setting tables, serving our seniors, visiting and socializing, and meal cleanup.   

Senior Café takes place every Wednesday in Byron from 11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. 
Volunteers would help with the setup, serving, and cleanup for the noon meal. 

**Volunteer needs to be comfortable working independently. Training is provided.

As a Meals Coordinator, you load meals into the route drivers' cars, ensuring all meals are picked up for delivery. You call FSR staff -as necessary- to support meal deliveries if there are no-show route drivers. 

You must be at the kitchen (Shorewood) between 11:00 and 11:10 am at 2115 2nd Street SW on your assigned day. Meals are delivered rain or shine, including holidays. 

The Meals Coordinator role is a weekly commitment. A substitute coordinator will be assigned if you are unable to volunteer on your regularly scheduled day of the week.

Family Service Rochester is partnering with other organizations across the community - Channel One, Ruby's Pantry, and Cub Foods -  to distribute food to those in need through FSR Fresh!

FSR Fresh is a grocery box delivery program, run with the help of volunteers, and this opportunity allows you to help with the delivery of grocery boxes to clients.

Pick up location: 1625 Highway 14 East, Rochester, MN 55904 (pull around to the back of the building & enter door)

Pick up time: 10:30 AM (deliveries usually take between 1 and 1.5 hours)

Distribution area: Mainly Rochester - but will possibly include Byron, Kasson, Stewartville, or Oronoco

What do denim, diamonds, and dice have in common? Raising money for Meals on Wheels of course! Denim, Diamonds, and Dice, FSR’s annual casual gala and casino-themed fundraiser raises money to help defray the cost of home delivered meals for lower-income seniors. First held in 2019, the planning committee created a night of casual fun encouraging casual denim attire or sparkle and diamond bling. Attendees try their hand playing casino games with local celebrity dealers.
We are looking for additional volunteers willing to share their ideas and talents as we make plans and prepare for our 2025 Denim, Diamonds, and Dice event! Volunteers interested in helping create live and silent auction baskets would also be appreciated.

Would you be interested in becoming a Family Access Center volunteer?  

This program provides a safe and secure setting for children to maintain relationships with parents and other significant adults through supervised parenting time, monitored parenting time, and safe exchanges. 

Volunteers complete 12 hours of initial training in preparation for conducting supervised parenting times and exchanges. A minimum of two shifts per month and attendance of a monthly two-hour staff meeting are required. Preferred one or more year commitment.

Available Shift Hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  & 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  
Sunday: 12:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
